2013 YWCA MONOPOLY Tournament A Thriller

Fullerton, CA-   Over 40 players put on their game faces to participate in the YWCA of North Orange County’s 8th Annual MONOPOLY Tournament on Saturday, October 19 held at the Holiday Inn & Suites, Fullerton. Volunteers from the National Charity League and Eastside Christian High School helped make the event run smoothly. Mr. Peter Schlosser, last year’s Champion, participated as the Tournament Judge as dices rolled and property was bought, traded, and sold.  The players ranged in age from 10 to 74 years old. The connection that held these generations of players was MONOPOLY, a board game that has been played for over 110 years.

The single elimination tournament, two- 90 minute rounds, ended with a Championship Table of six players, five players that earned the most money or assets during the tournament and last year’s champion, Peter Schlosser.  History was made!  Jack Munson, a 10 year old, who was the junior player, won the tournament bankrupting even the experienced players, some HASBRO National Champions, in the final round.   Mike Munson came in second place, Robert Ellis, third place, Gary Heller, fourth place, Peter Schlosser, fifth place and Craig Way, sixth place.
